Delegating a task is not easy for any
entrepreneur. People say that it’s like a needle task but is it really that
easy?
There are so many ideas giving rise every
now n then and an Entrepreneur as a leader wants the team to inculcate those as
soon as possible! Although, Jignesh Barasara is not
a delegator like the next door entrepreneur.
There are so many things which go in a mind
of an entrepreneur and it becomes really difficult to expect everything from
the team. As there are few tasks that need certain attention and key to detail.
The quality check needs to be done and if we see with respect to the aspect of
business, there are few hands-on tips to achieve success.
1. Try understanding that you can’t do
everything yourself.
Think like an entrepreneur! We totally
understand that the crazy desire of doing everything by your own can put you
aback. Embrace yourself to find a delegator within yourself in such scenario.
Spend more time to think on how you may grow your business with big ideas and
however, achieve greater success.
2. Don’t discriminate in the level of tasks
while delegation
Many entrepreneurs and managers think to
take baby steps while delegating. To take small steps initially, and then going
to the next stage to the other. However, over the time, they have learnt that
it was the wrong strategy because employees’ major focus would only be on the
small objective and won’t be able to see the greater picture that is set. They
just will not feel associated with the organisation as a whole unlike you.
This is the reason why you need multiple
approaches while working out on a plan. However, a couple of CEOs have found
out that it better off to delegate bigger duties because employees get to know
about the bigger picture of how the business model works and learn to
appreciate the fact that even little tasks are important to keep the process
streamlined and make it work efficiently.
3. Find some separate time to delegate
duties.
Time-blocking should be your best pal,
indeed! You should be better at time management skill and know how easy it is
separate sections of time to different tasks. This is the most effective method
as studied and we have that delegation can actually block out time. It will
force you to use that time to meet your employees and explain them verbally
what you are trying to delegate.
4. Set clear expectations.
It needs to be self-explanatory. The
overall goals of the task along with the standards that will be used to measure
the key results. Make sure that your goals are specific, attainable, relevant,
and measurable.
